after Marjorie Saiser
I give my love to what has given me scars,
arthritis from years of tap-dancing stomps
knots on my fingers from decades of writing,
each hurt from lost dreams never realized
I give my love to what challenges me
that complaining woman who shatters my peace
a poem with an essence that somehow alludes me
my mood swings that throw me off balance
I give my love to what I know will leave me
the purr of Chloe on my lap while reading
the swallowtail alighting the butterfly bush
this body that’s aging and one day will die
I give my love to what I lose
I give my love to what I live
I give my love to what passes through
this unique path I travel
I give my love that only I
can give in the way that I love
This poem was inspired by “I Save My Love”, a poem by Marjorie Saiser.

The Day Fourteen prompt is to write an anaphora poem, a poetic form where multiple lines begin with the same word or phrase.
Poignant, yet empowering. Love is all about acceptance.

A beautiful poem LuAnne 💚 I don’t know whether you’re familiar with Nick Ortner’s book ‘Tapping for Pain Relief’. The rhythm of your poem reminded me of some of the mantras he uses to tap away chronic pain and the theme is all about love and acceptance 💜 xxx

No, I am not, Xenia. I am a little familiar with tapping but not Ortner specifically. I will look him up. Thank you very much.
