Love Poems

“Notice my creation for you,”
god keeps reminding me
through soft wind whispers.

So, I notice the way dark lines of empty branches
thrust themselves against the soft blue sky.

I notice how creation is over the top with variety,
squirrels black, red, and grey
fluffy tails or wispy ones,
symphonies of bird songs
each unique in tone and rhythm,
species of snowflakes
powder, icy, fluffy, wet.

I find love poems written in the snow by
animal tracks and melting clusters from limbs.
Can I read those ephemeral poems from god;
decipher their coded messages to me
before they melt away?

And, ah, the alluring moon who changes
so quickly she's hard to locate
especially during daylight;
she can often be elusive.
“Notice me,” she says,
“I can guide you through the
constant change in life.”

Both photos taken in my yard.

  1. Love your divinely inspired “Love Poem,” LuAnne. Brings to mind this Arthur Young quote:
    “God sleeps in the minerals, awakens in plants, walks in animals, and thinks in man.”
    Loving Valentine’s Day! 🙂
