Window of my chest
opens to receive
breath, breeze, memories
sunlight and warmth of smiles
taste of moist air before a snow
cinnamon tea steam
Window of my chest
opens to release
tension in my shoulders
sighs from deep content
a secret smile directed at
mallards moving amidst grey clouds
Window of my chest
opens as creative pulse
words, ideas coalescing to
nourish my spirit and perhaps
become sparks of inspiration
strumming through the earth to
join with other rhythms to create
new music
Open the window in the center of your chest, and let the spirit fly in and out. – Rumi (from “Where Everything Is Music”)

Beautiful. It’s an interesting exercise to breathe into the heart and focus from there.

Splendid and wonderful poem, LuAnne and opening the window of your chest and letting peace and love be present. Loved the quote by Rumi.
