Emotions, like water
take many forms
we may bottle our feelings
or let them flow like a river
They can suddenly come
crashing against the rock
of selfishness
or ripple in widening circles
when a pebble of understanding
is invited into the smooth surface
Our emotions can
rush off a tall cliff
splashing into deep waters or
bubble and babble
in playful tumbles over
stones of experience made smooth
"...observe your feelings - whether they are pleasant, unpleasant , or neutral. Feelings flow in us like a river, and each feeling is a drop of water in that river." - Thich Nhat Hanh
You are always welcome dear LuAnne. I think we all are having emotions that are creating lots of good and bad too all because of the pandemic and it’s negativity on the whole world.
Beautifully presented … when things get the better of us, we can step back and think of those gentle ripples and playful tumbles we are always capable of (but so easily lose touch with)
Yes, we need to notice all these emotions, not repelling the difficult one, not clinging to the joyous ones. Just flow… Thanks for stopping by, Jazz, and I appreciate your comments as always.
Love this post – it’s a soothing read.
