I am the moon
the moon is me
we hide in daylight,
slivered, until we
become full
I am the moon
the moon is me
we wax and wane
but always come back
full cycle
an eclipse may disrupt
here and there but
mostly the change is constant
I am the moon
the moon is me
we reflect the world
in which we exist and
make shimmering sunlight
upon the lake
in the middle of the night
Graphic is an original watercolor painting.
This is beautiful, LuAnne.
“I am the moon
the moon is me
we wax and wane
but always come back
full cycle”
This speaks so into my experience.

I can feel the rhythm of this – there is something so calming and reassuring about the moon. Love the image.

Thanks, VJ. There is something that is so grounding to me if I keep in touch with the moon cycles. I think it comforts me to know that even when I totally disappear, I will re-emerge, only to wane again. Thanks for stopping by. I always appreciate your comments.

Very energizing … and this surely resonates: an eclipse may disrupt / here and there but / mostly the change is constant. (Life would be truly dull if we were not ever-changing.)

Thanks for stopping by, Jazz. I thought of you when I was working on this poem because I know you are a moon cycle watcher, too.

A moon watcher … and I sense her watching over me … patient with my waning and waxing focus through life’s cycles … I love moon poems!!
