Balloons, bubbles, and backyard bouncing
new baby cousin watches with wonder
birthday celebration on my backyard neighbor’s deck
seen from my back window
From the front window another scene
friends and family with plates of food
offerings for grieving survivors of
my across-the-street neighbor who died
Me, in between the two houses
isn’t that how it is?
birth and joy
death and grief
with vicissitude of life
happening in between
In loving memory of our wonderful neighbor, Dago.
The circle of life. It’s an odd feeling isn’t it? When my eldest daughter was born, a dear uncle died. You describe the feeling of being in the middle well.

Thank you, Xenia. He died suddenly and has left the neighborhood in shock. He was probably the best neighbor I have ever had.

This is what Life is All about. One side rejoicing of one Birthday and the other side where death has come and taken the person away. Lovely poem, LuAnne.
