Equanimity

When loss blows you away
follow winter’s path
embrace the growing darkness
breathe the breeze of gain

When blame troubles your heart
feel affection for others
be secure in your abilities
breathe the breeze of praise

When sorrow drenches you
in downpour after downpour
be nourished by the rain then
breathe the breeze of joy

When failure weighs your spirit down
search for new perspectives
seek lessons of the universe and
breathe the breeze of success

When life mires your vision
like a snow globe shaken up
settle gently into stillness
to reveal the hidden beauty

Inspired by The Wisdom of Discomfort by Sylvia Boorstein and based on the concept of the eight worldly winds
