In the dark
familiar things become unrecognizable
while what usually goes unnoticed
becomes obvious, essential
like snuggling in the dark
when touch of skin,
scent of affection,
become your sensory guides
In the quiet
darkness calls to whispers
if words are ever shared
Darkness snuggles with the quiet,
through shadows of long nights
touching her softy,
gently spooning,
relaxing as one in hushed peace

Darkness is sort of cozy, especially with a down comforter! Thanks for stopping by V.J.

Love the your words and the images they evoke, LuAnne. But your last verse is sublime – sheer beauty. Read it over and over again.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Don. I am so glad this spoke to you. For some reason solstice is more special to me than Christmas. I hope your solstice is peaceful.

Thanks, LuAnne – it sure is, very wet and cold, but wonderfully peaceful.
