Taffeta rustles
china clinks against silver
soft Christmas music plays
at the annual Christmas tea
Even children are attired in calm
letting butter mints melt slowly on their tongues
no Ho, Ho, Ho’s here or jingling of bells
at the annual Christmas tea
When my daughters were young, I would host a mother-daughter Christmas tea every year. Everyone would get dressed up and we’d have lots of treats. It was a respite from the hectic holiday hustle.

Inspires me to take tea when I go visit my daughter tomorrow (Solstice) … thanks!

Great idea! Do you have a tea room nearby? If not, just stopping at the kitchen table for a cup can be relaxing. Thanks for stopping by, Jazz.

We did this little dress up retreat for many years until the girls finally said, “Mom, we’re too old for this.”
