What the Living Do*

sing in the rain

Sometimes we sing
Always we breathe

Sometimes we love
Always we touch

Sometimes life brings us to laugh
Always hearts beat in our chests

Sometimes we dance in the rain
Always blood runs through our veins

Sometimes we grieve for a loss
Always we long for a peace

Sometimes we’re tranquil inside of turmoil
Always we’re part of the vast universe

  1. Dear LuAnne: I love your poem. Good talking to you the other day. Just back from up north—weather beautiful, Terrace Inn was charming, visits with friends and family good, have gained three pounds from all the ice cream I ate. Hugs to you. Hope you are feeling better. I sure know what anxiety is. Bons Baisers, Yvette
