The buoyancy of levity
weighs lightly on my mood
it’s “as light as any wind blows”
as Tennyson once wrote
My worries are ethereal,
like gossamer fairy fluff
just “an airy nothing”
as in the Shakespeare quote
Day Twenty-four prompt: Write a poem that is inspired by a reference book. I chose my favorite reference book, Roget’s Thesaurus. I focused on the section on LIGHTNESS.
One thought on “A Roget’s State of Mind”
I feel the lightness! Enjoyed this poem.
