Moon Morning

I.

A full moon
plays peek-a-boo
among the trees
before tucking herself
under the covers
of the horizon

II.

Super moonset in the west
brightens snow like day
Sunrise in the east
paints watercolor clouds

III.

How can moonset and sunrise
be in such proximity
that I look out one window
to see day beginning
another to see its reflection
setting to end the night?

It must be the part of the cycle
when the earth gets out of the way,
lets sun and moon brush each other
with the velvet paw of transition
