Turning Point

path around the lake

You walk the well-worn path
around the near-by lake,
you know this trail by heart;
it ends back where you started

One day a reed or paw print,
a little frog or snake
entices you from the circular path
entices you from the familiar

You wander off in new directions
open to exploration
no telling what adventures you’ll find
on a side path of serendipity

There is one path in the world that none can walk but you. Where does it lead? Don’t ask, walk! – Nietzsche

You can read another post about this path at Windfalls.

The photo of the path around the lake at Firefighters Park, Troy, MI USA is from my personal collection.
