Mantras for Chakras Six and Seven

seeing face

Sixth Chakra Mantra

May I see the essence
of myself with honesty

May I look beyond outward appearances
to see the essence of others

Seventh Chakra Mantra

May I be receptive
to the lessons
that the universe offers me

May I give back to the universe
with gratitude

The sixth chakra is the light chakra located in forehead and deals with intuition. One with a strong sixth chakra is imaginative and may have psychic perception. The underlying right of the sixth chakra is to to be able to see honestly.

The seventh chakra is the thought chakra located at the top of the head. It primarily deals with the issues of understanding. A strong seventh chakra seeks wisdom and spiritual connection. The underlying right of the seventh chakra is to gain knowledge as well as explore one’s connectivity with spirituality.

This post is the last of four posts this week of sharing the mantras I repeat during my meditation sessions to nurture a balance of my seven chakras. The word “chakra” is a Sanskrit word that translates as “wheel or disk”. Many see the seven chakras as “spheres of energy radiating from the central nerve ganglia of the spinal column” (from The Sevenfold Journey by Anodea Judith and Selene Vega). Also see my post for Mantras for Chakras One and Two, Mantras for Chakras Three and Four and Mantra for Chakra Five.

For a brief description of the seven chakras, see The 7 Chakras – A Beginners Guide to Your Energy Systems. I also recommend a book called The Sevenfold Journey that provides more indepth descriptions, physical exercises, and suggestions for balancing the chakras.
