Meaning Beyond Words

Slathered sweetness is nonsense
when bitter twang is Teacher
Dogma stuffs grey matter with
the Wonder Bread of wisdom

But a sudden leap makes bubbles
where dead fish never dream
and dirt can slowly serve as host
to ordinary triumphs

Spring crocuses that surprise me every year after sleeping all winter

      1. You’re welcome 🙂 I envision the wonder bread version of wisdom as a Google search. Lots of info but not much depth just like what I remember wonder bread tasting like. Can’t believe people actually consume it willingly *shudder*

  1. “ordinary triumphs”…thanks for the hopeful ending, ordinary triumphs available to ordinary me..out of the dregs can be beauty…Reminds me of Pearl Harbor where the ocean floor bubbled up oil, reminder of the seething graveyard beneath, yielding its death sludge, and yet, in the midst of the oily slick and sadness there were schools of little multicolored fish happily swimming–teaching signs of life and hope. God bless you, and thank you so much!

  2. Triumph indeed 🙂 Your poem is very thought provoking. The girl leaping out of the water is a great action shot. LIke you, I get a delightful surprise each spring with the crocuses popping up 🙂
